Photography Collection
Pura Dewata
PURA DEWATA is a photographic collection that delves into the symbolic universe of Balinese deities and their sacred temples, revealing the energy that flows between the celestial and the earthly. Each image begins as a photograph that, through digital brushstrokes and painterly textures, is transformed into an artistic interpretation — suspended between reality and imagination.
In this series, both the Dewata (gods and goddesses) and the Pura (temples) are reimagined with the sensibility of painting: light, color, and movement merge to evoke the spirituality that has shaped Bali for centuries. The intention is not to reproduce traditional representations, but to offer a contemporary perspective where architecture, human presence, and atmosphere intertwine in expressive dialogue.
PURA DEWATA is, above all, a celebration of the multiplicity of the sacred. It invites viewers to contemplate the beauty, strength, and mystery that inhabit both the divine forms and the spaces that house them — now reinterpreted as works that breathe between photography and painting. Each image opens a space for the observer to discover their own narrative within this symbolic and sensory universe.
